Welcome

Over the years I have delivered hundreds of speeches all over the country but I have never had a blog.

Today that changes. I am offically launching my blog. This is a persoanl blog not related in anyway to any of my businesses or any companies I am associated with. The views expressed here are mine and mine alone.

As with my speeches I expect that my blog will be contraversial and may from time to time annoy or upset some folks. I apologize in advance and I hope those offended can get over it.

I welcome/encourage comments as I believe healthy debate is what makes this country strong. Enjoy!

Porsche Perspective

Before I start I must declare that I am a Ferrari owner, racer and lover. As such Porsche is normally an arch enemy. Most of the faithful from each camp very rarely see eye to eye and often avoid each other like the plague. So for me to write this piece on Porsche is a stretch and proves once and for all, above all I am just a true lover of all cars! Porsche has to be respected for their longevity, their racing prowess and their myopic market focus. Porsche's have been racing and winning for as long as I can remember and while they are not a Ferrari their racing pedigree is remarkable. Initially their claim to fame was the basic 911. This is still their bread and butter car and over the decades has been improved markedly. But I am not going to focus on the 911, the Panamera or Cayenne. Today I want to discuss the smaller, younger cousins - the Cayman and the Boxster. These two "entry level" Porsches are worth writing about. Porsche first made the Boxster in 1997 in an...

America Politics Gone Mad

In car racing we have a time in each season affectionately called the "Silly Season". For it is a time when all the trading and movement for the following season takes place. Driver switch teams or get fired, teams change suppliers or engines, teams switch leaders or engineers and race schedules and venues get selected or dumped. For racers it is time we expect to see massive change and sometimes surprises. Well it appears we are in the Silly Season in American politics. Yes we expect every 4 years that we will elect a President and it gets even sillier when we have a lame duck in the White house. (sorry no disrespect the President Obama although the title seems to fit). This time around it is the worst Silly Season I have ever seen. Actually we might want to rename it the Ridiculous Stupid Season. Have you been paying attention to the political circus in since late last year? Of course you have you can't avoid it no matter what you do. That right there is part of the...

Election 2012 - The Vote

Well it is the day before the big election and what do we know? We know that the race is too close to call; that each side is claiming victory will be theirs; that both are still campaigning hard; that there is a big push to get folks to vote and that this election means a great deal to the future of America. When I look at the election a few things spring to mind: This election is not just about the President. It is about over 200 House and Senate seats; it is about many referendums in many states and it is about the future of America. It is about failure and how we fix our economy It is about our kids and grandchildren It is about the global economy and how we compete It is about peace and how we keep and encourage it worldwide It is about our morals and families We have seen a partisan divide the likes of which i cant ever remember. We are a polarized nation with a blurred vision and weak morals. We seem lost and our American pride is not what it should be or has been...
